GrassMaster - My Robotic Lawn Mower

In this video, I test an electric cutting mechanism with a 6 1/2" blade for a robotic lawnmower I am developing for fun. The platform the motor is mounted to is for testing only. On the final product, there will be 3 motors. The main chassis was also built as an outdoor test platform for the drive system and electronics. @xoomin2006 This is a really early prototype from a couple years ago. I was remote controlling it manually in this video to test the blade/motor/bearing block design I had cooked up. Thus, all cut/uncut grass detection was done by me. (c:

I had an onboard IMU at one point. I was using a gyro to assist me in driving straight (kinda hard with a differential drive sometimes).

Last year's version had a basic level of autonomy that used bump sensors. I always have bigger plans in mind...
