1) What "pale" is to Mena we can understand from the second and third verse of the second paragraph:

Pale is two things. An average person helplessly lost into the mean crowd afraid to stick out, and; A non average person helplessly unable to fit into the mean crowd.

Maybe she's saying that pale people have no color. The opposite of pale is colorful,full of life,full of feeling,ranges,vibrancies,extensions of heart of soul.Maybe she's saying it's not easy to be color full in a crowd - 'world' that is pale (low on feeling) Maybe the color full begin to lose color..who doesn't need color..who doesn't need life..don't we all need it.Maybe shes saying sometimes her color is used up or if held inside it dies and then she too dissolves into the pale. ? Maybe...
