A true amerian hero, wound up on the losing end, sets up his place in history. Mainstream histor is written by the winners. All he did was protect his home, from a foreign invader.
@Firepig911 It's ashame a man such as gen FORREST gets such a bad rap he was abrilliant calvery gen. the US ARMY has study his battels and used his proven tactics to win many of battel for all our freedom .AS FAR AS THE KKK MOST PEOPLE DONT KNOW WHY IT US FROMED. how it was used to protect people from scallywags carpetbagers and union soilders you ocupied the south after the war from raping and lotting.we here in the south owe so much to him for all he gave thanks and Godbless
The official history says that the North for allegedly freed slaves fought, but it's a lie. The North wanted the South to take away his land and wealth, strangled South's economic policy and taxes. As a Russian saying: flogged on three skins! And the people of the South, black and white Southerners fought shoulder to shoulder against the aggression of the North, for his country, for freedom, the right to choose their own fate and that of their children like a free people.
@Firepig911 Then I guess you know that Forrest Park in Memphis is also the burial place of the General and his wife. it is on Union avenue just west of the Peabody Hotel. There is a hugh statue of the General on his horse at the front of the park and no there is no graffity anywhere in this park even though some have tried to get it renamed and the general and his wife's remained removed.
he may have had a pre-war career at selling slaves and a post-war infamous legacy as a founder of the Klan but during the war he was a brilliant soldier.
An entrepreneur who never had any prior military training...turned out to be a brilliant soldier, all after 40 years of age. A true representation of the American male.
