if you experiment with spaced omni's trying out different stand positions in the room you are probably able to fix the problem. Or remove some of your acoustic absorbers and replace them with diffusors to bring the room back to life again :)

@tferrarimusic What are you talking about? I hear it in stereo with headphones

@Evinger Agreed. The first thing any recording engineer should do from novice to pro is use their ears to find the sweet spot in the room; the area that the instrument sounds best the ears. If it sounds good to the ears it will sound good to the mics.

He might be using photobooth on a mac computer. It puts everything backwards.

Can you tell us where the mics are setup and how high (as you can't see them in the vid)

@jackringo1 the mics were directly above drummers head about 5 1/2 feet from the floor. Hope this info helps. Cheers!

Thank you. I feel the same, XY doesn't usually do it for me, especially with pencil mics, but it does have it's uses.

sounds really good man, the room you're in sounds a bit boxy, lots of bottom end, or did u eq?

Small room with low ceiling gives it that boxiness
