The Leimert Park Art walk has partnered with the C3 Pressline Connection
To continue to Express Culture, Creativity, and Collectivism within the Leimert Park Community
Armed with a mission to empower today's youth to build their future through music, arts, culture, and thinking;
Derek Haskell and his team at C3 Foundation seek to educate, motivate, and encourage today's youth to engage self determination and entrepreneurship before they enter the "working world". Haskell and his team are seizing this opportunity to expose urban youth to occupations which are not often seen in their community by providing a chance for young people to meet and greet successful urban professionals from the public and private sectors.
The art Walk features the works of local, national, and internationally known visual, graphic, video,literary, and entertainment artist. Visitors can stroll the Historic Leimert park Village with its quint galleries, gift shops, hair saloons, and the famous Vision Theater, who's striking 1950's architecture houses the main stage for a wide variety of music presentations from jazz to blues to today's positive hip- hop. The art walk highlights include a lineup of progressive pop offerings at the renown youth venue Kaos Network. Free feature, documentary, and cutting edge shorts are screened at the Cine Freestyle theater. October's Art Walk will present a special outdoor Screening of Michael Jackson's" Moon walker", Live "Thriller" dancers and other Halloween surprises The event is Free and include a children's museum, storytelling and a musical pied piper. Each month the Leimert Park Art walk will be exposing our children a different occupation. C3 goal for the 10/31/2010 is to feature different jobs, that provide a service, ( Local R.O.T.C. programs, L.A. City Fire, and Police, First A.M.E. Church YAM). Jobs of Service will be the image for the month and we would love your support.
