Breath of Fire 2 Infinite Money Trick

Showing how you can get as much money as you desire in Breath of Fire 2. This is not really a glitch, it's normally achieved very early into the game.

First of all, you need to get the normal carpenter, not one of the other two (who are less useful in comparison). Only the normal carpenter allows cooking, and cooking is good for so many things: restorative items, buff item magic, stat maxing (I'm not using any vitamins on this playthrough though) and also getting a lot of Gil quickly and without fighting battles. This is especially good for LLGs, but any playthrough could make use of it. Some of the endgame equipment is otherwise very expensive if you don't do this trick and you'll have to grind to be able to afford those Medusa Shields and whatnot.

So, anyway, the earliest you can get it is right after the normal carpenter builds the township and you can start cooking. For easy cooking, you want to hire Hanz (5th house) from HomeTown and just fill your inventory with Cond Ups and cook three of them for a GoldBar, then sell the Goldbars you've got and repeat the process until you have as much money as you please.

However, many people who play a perfect game of some sort may not intend to hire Hanz. I didn't on this playthrough. A very reasonable alternative for house number 5 is Yozo from Windia who increases one character's max AP by 16. Now I really regret wasting this house on him, because I used Yozo's service on Katt to give her like twice as much AP. While she could cast Bolt X after that, I actually never used it - not once - on my playthrough because Katt's physical attacks were always more damaging and by the time she gets her Devil form there are gradually less enemy parties with more than one monsters. And really, you use Bolt X and then you have no more AP to cast it any more? I really shouldn't have hired Yozo and got Hanz on this run instead.

This video shows the method of getting the ingredients without Hanz. Hanz can be hired as soon as Jean joins your party, but my method is only possible after you have Grandpa the whale. It is also more time-consuming, but less so if one of your characters knows Warp. Bleu starts with this spell, by the way.

There's an easier way to make gold bricks, and it always makes two. Buy 3 condition ups and one shrimp and toss them all in together and you'll always get 2 gold bars. Just 3 condition ups gets you one gold bar. 3010 gold into 12000 gold every time ignoring charcoal

Man, u have played the gba version ofr BoF2?

Yeah, I have. I only finished the runs I started in the SNES one though. I don't like the new character portraits. If I still had an actual GBA and somebody to trade with at that, I'd play that version more, but since I have to emulate it regardless I prefer the original.

@MoogleBoss Yup, I made about 800,000 zenny before getting bored of it, starting from 5k. The only times I didn't get 2 bars were when I didn't add a shrimp to it. If you get the guy in your town that sells condition ups, I think you could sub the shrimp with any fishing bait or fish in general, but I didn't bother trying since I had a stockpile.

IF YOUR GAME FREEZES AFTER SHUPUKAY JUST USE A (E) EUROPE ROM~!! just load the game normally using the ingame load , because your states wont work, also be sure to change the rom to be same as the old rom,so it works :) i just got the bird form and im flying all over the world, muhaha

This isn't really necessary, once you have grandpa the whale you can just swim to monster island, that way you get more experience and gold than you'll ever need, I usually end the game with 1.5 million gold from monster island, thumbs up though for BOF2

I'm surprised you didnt have Bleu at this point to use warp as you stated in your description. I think Jean also learns warp around lvl 18 (I think). I usually go to Giant Island around lvl 20. If you have "chopchop" spell for the Chorking (giant fly) and Bow's "Shot" skill for A-Sludge & Gonghead. Blue's Death spell usually kills the M.Sludge everytime. I get loads of money this way like 1,000 a fight :) Sorry for ranting on about something you knew allready :P Good trick in your video BTW

Well, i sold my gba long time ago, i just emulate them but i dunno if its emulator problem or maybe the rom, but always have the same problem stucking, after the battle with Shupkay, when the party go to the top of the tower and starts exploding the game freezes ):
