This is my 19th video for adding lyrics to falconer's songs.

well folks, i certainly do have something special for you today, it is the song En Kungens Man which is the japanese bonus track to the Chapters From A Vale Forlorn album.

The special thing isn't that it is one of the harder songs to find, it is that it is the first swedish song of falconer's that i have done lyrics for.

That said, here is a sort of explaination of what i did:

The Actual words that are being said (Swedish words) are in the normal position. The English translation is at the bottom as a subtitle.

There are some parts which the english subtitle continues after some of the words and on through the next, that is because i believe that part of the sentence is dependent on the next. (Very hard to split up the english sometimes)

I used the English Translation and the Swedish Words from this one site. So i do not know if all the words are correct or if some are off. If they are off, sorry about that.

well i hope you enjoy, and if you like what you hear then go out and buy Falconer's CD's. Also watch for their new album in fall of 2008

  • And also, the last line "får veta att vi drömt" could also be that "we are told it was just a dream".

  • as with most translation, there are sometimes quite a few ways to translate some words and sentences.

Thanks for showing that "Alternate" translation

  • I think its important to say that falconer didint make this song, its a cover...

  • Very True, I think many of us, (or at least the fanatics like me :P) knew this but have simply said nothing about it

  • I love this song, though I can't find a dman copy of it anywhere unless I buy the Japanese import of 'Chapters'. Any suggestions?

The end of that last verse Matthias really gives it some bollocks. That guy is brilliant!!!!

  • Well nothing much you can do considering it is the Japanese Bonus track.

Perhaps you could pm me and we could talk a little more about giving you the song

  • Mathias's voice on this song is positively bone-chilling. So epic, I love it.

  • Falconer seems not to like noblemen and bourgeois in its songs. I love Mathias Blad's voice.

  • Anyone know where I could buy this song?? It's not on iTunes. Well, it is, just not by Falconer. And I like theirs the best.

  • Bränn häxan!

  • @SvitjodsJarl Or skånska. Denmark and the "Swedish" Skåne is the same shit. In my opinion! Greatings from Gällivare, northern Sweden :)

  • You don't realize just HOW beautiful this is until you hear other people's versions. I've just listened to about four different renditions of this song, and this one completely blows all the others out of the water, especially vocally! No one else comes within miles of comparing to Mathias!

  • How sad it was for Maria. Let us enjoy the musical talent, but remember better the moral of the song:

All individuals are free. They are not slaves or property to anyone else. Do right by your fellow person.

  • i must have listened to this song a hundred times tonight, the moral of the story just pulls at me heart, thanks for the lyrics it gives so much depth to the song.

  • Have studied Swedish only for a little time. But if I remember it correctly "att få veta" means "to get to know"...

Given the context of the song, I think the last lines can be translated as

"and we, who witnessed the way things really went, are made believe that we dreamed all that"

Smth like that I guess :)

  • This band inspired me to learn Swedish.

  • An old swedish song made by Björn Afzelius(well known person in Sweden).

    Anyway great cover :)
