DONA International is extremely pleased to present our new documentary about birth and postpartum doulas: The Essential Ingredient: Doula
Attendees at the 16th Annual Conference in Albuquerque, NM were treated to a pre-production preview and gave it rave reviews! Feedback from viewers was taken into consideration and revisions were made resulting in this final version that is now being made available to the public, and most especially, to DONA doulas and the families they serve in our global village.
The documentary features commentary by all of DONA International's esteemed founders and some of our past presidents speaking on the origin and rationale of doula support. Their words are complemented by inspiring visuals of treasured birth and postpartum moments.
DONA members can request a free DVD to promote their doula services by ordering it through the DONA Boutique as soon as copies are ready for mailing. You will only pay for shipping and handling!
We encourage you to use this documentary in your practice. Put it on your web site as soon as it is available and share it with potential clients, friends and family so they can help spread the word about doulas: the essential ingredient in birth, rediscovered.

Great documentary. Many thanks to such well done work from lovely people like phyllis, marshall and klaus, so doulas became famous. And thanks to DONA who honored those important people like their founders and others like Penny, Ina May, Debra and don't forget the first Doulas in Guatemala.
