This guy has the best teaching technique I've seen so far.
It's really enjoyable playing along with a record like that, and it really takes a lot of the mystery out of scales.

@keyblademaster99999 Ok, then go to the middle of the song and show me how Ritchie Valens plays that lead part....it will amaze me if you do...it seems to start on the third string, then he goes up the scale, and back before he gets into the chords, and the lyrics again...

@GuitarMusicTheoryTab ...not looking for the opening riff...I am referring to the riff in the middle of the song...It's a "lead" guitar riff....I think it's the G string being played at 1/64 timing...then it goes into the scale up and down, then back to the chords....listen to Ritchie Valens original. You cannot miss it.
