Dr Foster and Mengo Hospital - HIV/AIDS Trials 2007

With Concern that antiretroviral therapy for HIV infection was impractical and difficult to organize in the African context and after developing proprietary formulations to restore the key nutritional components to normal levels, Dr. Foster and Dr. Jim Sparling started to work together and conduct clinical studies on HIV/AIDS patients in several medical centres in Sub-Saharan Africa.

This nutritional supplementation - which subsequently became Foster Health's HIV/AIDS Medical Food - was used in the 310-patient double blind trial. These studies demonstrated that supplementing patients diets with the right combination and dosage of key nutrients reversed the symptoms of AIDS, and allowed these patients to return home.
