I have been told that my statements about Pakistan (found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewf5WijMBBw ) will most likely be taken the wrong way. So, I thought I should grab my axe & attempt a different approach.

"a book entitled "The Islamic Woman" was published which detailed beating techniques to be imposed on Muslim women--at the hands of their abusive husbands. The book's author is a Muslim Imam living in Spain, named Mohamed Kamal Mostafa."

"The Islamic Woman" instructs men to hit women "on their hands and feet, making sure to use a cudgel that is not too thick so as not to leave permanent scar tissue." Mostafa also warns his fellow Muslims to "inflict blows that are not too strong nor too hard, because the aim is to make them suffer psychologically."

A sampling of the hundreds of thousands of articles there have been about this cultural practice which has the backing of the Imam's who instruct the people & the Qur'an from which they give their instruction. To say this is not a religious matter is to deny the black and white text of their book.

I think this video is really about Black/White lower class men beating their women so that's why so many of these women end up bringing up children on their own, so the cycle keeps repeating. Why don't you first deal with your own problems before pointing fingers at others?

@LucisFerre1 I've visited Muslim countries, but don't think thats the case; although domestic violence in on the increase in UK due to financial difficulties and substance abuse; can I therefore say that's the culture of UK?

@missnoorulain1, I've lived in Saudi Arabia and have been in other Islamic theocratic societies as well. My point is that violence against women is institutionalized in these nations and even justifiable via the Koran, whether you choose to interpret beat your wife as beat your wife or not.

I am a Muslim and I've never been hurt my husband nor know of anyone who has; how ever I know for sure that domestic violence is not limited no based nor influenced by any religion rather it's all about mental sickness.

Muhammad(pbuh) Never even raised his voice to his wives. You can read what His wives wrote about him (clearly documented in Hadiths) . Hope that clears up any misconceptions about teachings in islam. Women are regarded very highly in islam.
