Digital Overlay for Synthcart, Atari 2600 & MIDI2600

A very quick demo of a "digital" overlay for the Atari 2600 program "Synthcart" (that allows users to turn keypad presses into notes and music). The Atari is interfacing with the host computer via MIDI using the Highly Liquid MIDI2600 module.

Would you be able to go into more detail about this? Is this a commercial product or is it something that you wrote for OSX on your own? I assume that this communication with the Synthcart via MIDI. Is this correct?

Oh, hi there. This is not a commercial product, and is available free of charge. It is a Max/MSP patch and will run on both OS X and Windows using the freely available Max/MSP runtime environment.

Communication to the Synthcart is done via MIDI using the Highly Liquid MIDI2600 Retrofit Module.

So this patch shown in the video is essentially a "guide" that sends the correct MIDI data. Makes sense?

Yep. So just go to the cycling 74 website and follow the Max/MSP links to get to a download for the environment etc.

hey i havent been able to locate the environment on the cycling 74 website.....do you have a direct link? i have the synthcart and modded atari and highly liquid midi box and would LOVE to use this.......

i searched and searched but couldnt find it in the forums......

When I run the .gui in the Max/MSP runtime - everything comes up except for the large controllers. Any ideas?
