Agreed. Staying strong would've meant avoiding certain behaviors in the first place. It's delusional. Like single mothers who call themselves role-models for finishing school (!) or dads who congratulate themselves for participating in their kids' lives.
No, these are things people simply do. You don't get congratulations or props for "staying strong".

Personally, I thought she didn't know Paris was there. The moment she saw the spotlight all shining on Paris, she felt bad and regretted and said "Oh sweetie". But no doubt Paris is stupid, why is she in public when she's about to go to jail?
