Data Acquisition Video for Wettsen

This is for a video installation at the Wettsen booth at the 2007 Shanghai Int'l Cycle show. Mike Fritz, of American Electric Cycle and Fitness, explains how Wettsen employs Data Acquisition to manufacture the highest quality electric bikes in the world as seen in their production for Tres Terra. (Please note- he is talking slow for an audience that will have a dvd copy with Chinese overdubbing and subtitles.)

@szaki 7-8 miles with-out peddleing is about right. With easy peddleing you should achieve about 15-18 miles. The Europa is actually obsolesent, about by 8 years. I now have had a Ultra motors A2B for two an a half years. With the optional auxillary battery I get 30-35 miles (depending on the weather and terrain).

Bought a new battery from Ultra motors for my Europa E-bike, now it last for about 7-8 miles on one charge.

I also replaced controller, it was recommended for the new battery.

Maybe a problem with the motor? Draws too much power?

I think, this technology is too expensive and un-reliable.

Well designed, fun and fast.

It's time for these machines to hit the market and sell to everyone.

Gas is not needed, hydrogen is not needed, but a solar charge option would be nice.

yes you need a new battery. if the battery is less than one year old you should be able to get a new one at no charge. never the less, from personal experience, a new battery that is charged properly ( depending on weight of load) will give you a range of 12-18 mile range. i have owned my terra europa for over a year and have no complaints. unfortunately though a new battery does cost $400.

Bought a Tres-Terra Europa bicycle used, but the battery quits after 10 minutes, even after a full charge.

Red light blinks like crazy.

So it means I need a new Li-On battery?

i own a tres terra europa electric bike. i'm very happy with it. i weigh 250lbs and with a combination of peddling and using the electric motor i've gone in excess of 15 miles without draining the battery. with two collapsible baskets i can carry two full grocery bags. i do about 75% of my errands with this bike.

Way to go, Mike. The more I watch, the better I understand DAS. So, Wettsen complies totally the patents,and in fact, Wettsen owns lots of patents in the field.

Great device Mike! "Worth every penny of it". Our team has been using it and we think every electric vehicle factory will need a device like this one for the obvious reasons mentioned in the video.

With this device anybody can tell the performance difference between two or more bike eventhough they look alike.

I wonder about patent problems with all the Chinese E-bikes which I like very much. Who is complying to patent laws and who not?
