Is it absolutely necessary to have frost resist? My guild is running 10 man and I dont have the money or time to go and buy the gear. Is it possible to heal through it?

It is not necessary in 10 man version. In the video you are watching right now there was no frost resistance used. I highly reccomend it for 25 man version, it trivializes the fight. (we had 85% of our raid wearing 3 piece crafted FrRes. and we one shotted Sapp on 25 man.. of course everyone watched this video that we made on 10 man to learn the fight.)
