You've stated something that isn't true. Shawn does NOT portray himself as a practicing Mormon - but an EX-Mormon. This is no secret. You're accusing him of deception - and you are way off base. A lot of us have a bone to pick with the LDS Church. Their false doctrines are keeping YOU from the REAL Jesus Christ.

J.S. did not have sex with other men's wives, their is no historical evidence. No reason to assume that he did. Josephine Lyon statement is not evidence (no space to explain why) .
Even DNA evidence has disproven many accusations against J.S, that he had children with other men's wives.

I think that is probably right, not just for you but for most Mormons too.
All of the Mormons I know have accepted Jesus as their Lord & Savior.
But that was not because of Joseph Smith, that was because God is Merciful and the Holy Spirit is at work.
Do you really get the same confirmation from the Holy Spirit when you put Joseph to the test?
PLEASE answer honestly.

@TheSkepticChristian Or he wasn't. Or he was. Or he did. Or he didn't. Or there is. Or there isn't. Etc. The LDS and the BoM stand or fall on the testimony of J.Smith Jr. You had better hope he was what he said he was. Since there is a train-load of proof that he was not what he claimed and enough suspicious behavior related to Joseph that I have to take a pass on Joseph. When you stand before Jesus it won't be what Joseph believed that is questioned...it will be what YOU believed.

Shawn McCraney never presented himself as a Mormon on his show. Shawn has told his story of how he became an Ex-Mormon many times on The Heart of the Matter. You can see for yourself at HOTM.TV
It is suspicious that the Mormon Church does not want people to get information from other sources. That would be like going into a car dealership and having the salesmen say "Believe everything I say & don't read the consumer reports about the vehicle." It would be foolish to do so.
