BICB, the daily manifest from Blue Island, Illinois to Council Bluffs, Iowa slowly passes through Rockdale with a pair of brand new IAIS GEVO's (ES44AC's 502 and 510) and a pair of IAIS GP38-2's (711 and 715)! You could smell the fresh paint on these babies! Thanks very much to Saul for his great driving! They look a lot better in person than they do in photos!

What do you think of them? Today (September 26th, 2008) was their first trip ever to the Chicagoland area.

  • Nick,

Ditto on Andrew's comment: way to go on video #1111!!! You're leaving the rest of us in the dust!

Outstanding composition on this one! Excellent job with shooting over the puddle (or is that a miniature lake?)! The reflection is way cool. I like how the light from the crossing signals bounces back from the retroreflective striping on the flanks of the loco (around 1:03). Your technique always amazes me! Wish I had been there to see that one myself!

    Way to go!

    Dave

  • Thank you very much, Dave! Many more to come soon.

I didn't have a tripod at the time, due to the little problem I had with mine (bought a new one today at Best Buy!). I rested the camera on the car and was really happy with the results. LOL!

Terribly sorry that I missed your call earlier today. I'll give you a call tomorrow around lunchtime. Talk to you soon!

    Nick

  • Another nice video! The horn sounds like an old Leslie RS3K.

  • Thanks!

  • I agree. The CN and CP GEVOs have higher horns on them or something. These GEVOs remind me of the old CN RSC14 engines--Leslie RS3L or something like that.

  • Thanks, Evan! They certainly do.
