Bose L1 Model 2 With Tonematch and 2 B1's Setup for Acoustic and Vocals.. My normal setup is for electric guitar and vocals, it was very easy to re-do my settings to get a fantastic acoustic tone in just minutes. Alvarez acoustic electric, and Shure Beta 87a

  • Hi, I'm a solo vocalist who sings with backing tracks. I'm considering the bose l1 to improve the quality of my sound. While I'm certain it would be right for a small room, can it fill a larger room? Any help on this matter greatly appreciated. Thanks, Alan

  • @AlanBurtonSinger My experience is that even in larger rooms, the sound coverage is excellent. What I find is that the is less need for oppressive volume, since the sound carries further without things being extremely loud up front. It's a little difficult to get used to at first, the tendency is to worry that the sound won't reach the back of the room, but it's amazing how the sound gets there with minimal drop off.

  • @dlacr Thanks for that. Would I need 2 B1s for a large room or could I get away with 1??

  • @AlanBurtonSinger I personally like to use 2 B1's.. the sound levels are really not that much greater, but there is definitely more depth to the sound. I first started with one B1, and within 2 months I added the 2nd B1. The system produces a fuller, warmer, richer sound with the 2 B1's. For the extra money I think it is well worth it.

  • @dlacr Thanks! Just taken the plunge and ordered it with 2 x B1s. Hoping that the improved sound quality will pay for itself in the long term with more bookings.

  • @AlanBurtonSinger you're gonna love it... best of luck

  • I've seen 4 of these units (chained together for a full effect) be used to serve 2000 people. Sound was amazing and reached about 180 degrees around to the crowd. In fact, it was the first time I had heard or seen the Bose system. I was so impressed with the sound that I actually went over to the sound man to find out what was going on----meaning, where are the speakers??? Naturally, I thought those little "sticks" couldn't be what was putting out all that sound!

But it was! I was amazed.

  • CORRECTION: Yes---there is chorus, in fact, several different settings and warmth choices.

  • @dlacr Thank you! I'm very tempted to try it!

  • @Aldenif you will find that the bose system will give you a balanced sound between your instrument and your voice simply by adjusting the volume levels of each. The relationship between instrument and voice that you hear, will be the same experience the audience has. Simply set up your instrument where it sounds best, and set up your mic to where it sounds best, and then balance the volume levels.
