@DarknessInTheVaIIey Not entirely correct I think, the main reason is he doesn't like playing all these old songs, he feels he and his group have evolved since then and changed so much, and that he feels like someone else wrote it because of how differently he would write it nowadays.

People that are saying that he didn't write this song are wrong. He wrote this song, he just doesn't like singing it; like a lot of other songs. He wrote these songs about a person and if you can imagine trying to/getting over this person singing a song about them could either bring up bad memories or just be flat out irritating.
