Great looking VW Thing! California car, originally from the Southern California desert. Super solid and rust free body. No signs of bondo or rust. This VW Thing under went a recent, nice quality cosmetic restoration. The paint is fresh and looks terrific! The interior was also redone and looks fantastic. The Thing also has a nice, new top. The attention to detail is obvious. Bumpers, glass and rubber all look very nice. In addition, it starts; runs and drives very nicely with good compression (115-115-110-115); new exhaust system, wheels, tires and more. The original gas heater is installed but not connected. Our local VW shop has gone through the car thoroughly to assure it's reliable, safe and ready for you to enjoy!

Feel free to call Donn at 707-332-8331 any time. The car is available for inspection in Sonoma, California.
Thank you for visiting!

  • @MrNismoSR20 Also, they were only produced for US import in 1974-75!

  • @MrNismoSR20 Its proper nomenclature is the Type 181. It is based on the design of the German Kublewagon of WW II. It was also referred to as the Safari. Awesome lil car that wasnt much for comforts, but would go anywhere!

  • @somewhatlongdong Yes right up until they tried to use them in afganistan and discovered soldiers get killed in unarmored vehicles in war situations. They were replaced with the G-wagon

  • @dargonkin the canadian military kept those things going until into the 2000's didn't they?

  • those tires look stuffed in the wheel wells, I suggest a 2''-3'' lift

  • This Is Awesome VW Thing f o r s a l e CoolBeans

  • @MrNismoSR20 yes mr. playstation gran turismo player. it doesn't go super fast and it probably doesn't drift that well, and vin diesel probably won't drive one in the next fast and furious movie. sorry.

  • @smoothjamskillmoure lol true. weird thing is , people that cannot drive manual transmission vehicles come to a vehicle with a manual that is EASY to learn

  • Isnt' that which Drew Barrymore drove on the film which she meets Adam Sandler? The 50 dates?
