Well i think that tradition has been lost throughout the years..........2 many changes and every1's just making up their own theories as they please.......i do agree that the significance, importance and honour that you are bestowed upon once you have been tattooed has been tarnished.....i am sooooo proud to have been 1 of the lucky females that had been given that opportunity 2 be tattooed when tradition was still alive, so u mite as well say that we've lost our identity as tradition fades away

yeah my malu was at a hefty price too $1500 AUD! but well worth it, i love it, sure as heck dont miss that tap-tap-tap sound or pain lol HONORED to have endured through th pain for sure ;) xxx
I got my malu done in dec 2009. It hurt like a b*tch! I did id the traditional way with my cousin. My tofuga charged $400 per leg if we weren't going to do it the traditional way. We decided to do it the traditional way, we gave him gifts, some money and fine mats.
