I visited Wales last month for a short holiday.The countryside was incredible and it always had a peaceful laidback look. The terrain was very much mountains, valleys, and farmland with intermittant forest areas. There were also some ancient castle ruins. I hope you will be able to recognize even a bit of the incredible Welsh countryside from this video.

Gateway to Wales
==============
Wales is part of Britain and the United Kingdom.
It's situated to the west of England and is around 170 miles (256 km) long and 60 miles (96 km) wide.

Wales has two official languages, English and Welsh. The Welsh spoken today is directly descended from the language of the Sixth Century.

Welsh,Capital is Cardiff, Other major towns are Swansea, Newport, Wrexham. Governed by The National Assembly for Wales (Welsh Government)

Wales has a moderate climate, very similar to the rest of the UK but it can also be slightly unpredictable! The mountainous nature of the landscape and the shape of the coast mean that the weather can differ quite dramatically within a very short distance. Weather also changes quite quickly here- it could be raining in the morning and gloriously sunny by the afternoon.

National Symbols are The Leek ,The Daffodils,The Harp ,The Prince of Wales Feathers &
The Welsh Flag.
In Welsh Cenhinen means leek, and Cenhinen Pedr means daffodil. The similarities have led to both being adopted as our national symbols.

Aberystwyth: the Victorian University town on Cardigan Bay is home to the National Library of Wales.

Hay-on-Wye in mid Wales is home to the world's most famous literary and arts festival.

Landscape of Wales
==============
Beaches & Coastline
===============
Surrounded by sea on three sides it has got a lot of beaches. The Pembrokeshire coastline is 186 miles (300km) long, which means it would take about two and a half weeks to walk it and involves more ascent than climbing Everest. Visitors to the shore line are the dolphins, porpoises, basking sharks, Atlantic grey seals and leatherback turtles.
Mountains
========
Our highest mountain range is situated in Snowdonia in north Wales. Snowdon is our highest peak in Wales at 1,085 metres (3569 feet). Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to climb Mt Everest, trained with his team on the slopes of Snowdon.
The Cambrian Mountains in mid Wales are one of the few remote places left in the southern half of Britain with only one main road crossing the range.
The Black Mountains in the eastern part of one of our National Parks, the Brecon Beacons rise above 2000 ft. They are littered with tiny villages, churches and farms.

Lakes and rivers
============
Wales have got 398 natural lakes and many waterfalls too. Pistyll Rhaeadr is 73 metres high which is 22 metres higher than Niagra Falls. Another of the waterfalls Sgwd yr Eira, meaning fall of snow, is 15 metres high and is so called because of its torrential foaming white water.

The National Botanic Garden of Wales
============================
Home to the 'Great Glasshouse'. At the centre of the National Botanic Garden of Wales is the world's largest single span glasshouse. The glass dome covers 4,500 metres -- that's more than 23 tennis courts.
