The Women's Chorus of Dallas performs "Hope for Resolution," by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory, at its "City Lights" concert, March 15, 2008, Dallas, TX.
This piece celebrates the end of apartheid in South Africa by combining a traditional European chant, "Of the Father's Love Begotten," with a Zulu freedom song, "Thula Sizwe."
The Zulu lyrics translate as:
Nation, do not cry,
Jehovah is with us.
We will attain freedom,
Jehovah is with us.
