Bicycles for Humanity traveled to the Karamoja Region in the winter of 2011 to meet with community groups. We found a group of highly skilled bicycle mechanics in Abim District. They had been trained through the Aridland Development Program and have called themselves the Anenober Bicycle Company. Anenober is local dialect for "I have seen something good". These mechanics will provide training to local communities that receive Bicycle Empowerment Centres (BEC) through Bicycles for Humanity or their partners. The goal is to bring 25,000 bikes to the Karamoja Region over the next 5 years.
