Does anyone know the track of music that's playing under the first 45 seconds of the video? That's not the John Williams/Bugler's Dream music. I've been trying to figure out what that cut of music is for years now!

It was embarrassing how awful NBC's coverage of Vancouver was. I live on the west coast of Oregon and was on Vancouver time and NBC still taped delayed almost everything. Fuckers!!

I recently came across a comment somewhere on The Internets(TM) to the effect that ABC covered the Olympics as a sporting event, whereas NBC treats it more as a pageant. That very nicely sums up the difference in the networks' approaches, IMO.
Of course, today's "ESPN on ABC" is a very different animal from the classic ABC Sports of Roone Arledge. I'm not at all certain that they'd do much better on Olympic coverage if they had it today. Indeed, they might be far worse than NBC.

I believe it is time for ABC to do the olympics again. At the time, I felt like ABC did a much better job with the olympics than CBS and NBC have over the years.

Thank you for uploading this clip and many others. It is going to be seen for sure by a lot of people wanting to see how the late Jim McKay shown it to Americans. It was considered the best ABC has ever done.
