Seriously though, I'm not a professional guitar player, but sound-wise, i hardly felt the difference, and the greenwood one cost nearly twice as the Mexican one and i tried them both with the same amp.

I've got a mexican tele. They're fine. You can always upgrade the pickups and whatever else. (The greenwood model has different pickups. t the mex tele) BTW the Joe Strummer reissue tele is a mexican tele, just a different paint job. And a much bigger price tag

not typically, Mexican Fenders are pretty damn good these days tho, but the American versions are still #1
