ATTENTION: i have made a version 2 of this video, please watch it, it is a little more detailed and informative.
This video is all about how to care and how to NOT care about Bettas/Siamese Fighting Fish. I would like to thank MetalgyrlACD for her inspiration and her info. Something that i didn't include is: Change the water with a cyphen every weeks about 1/4 of the water, feed them small abouts a few times a day that includes a good quality pellet food and frozen and freeze dried brine shrimp and bloodworms(they LOVE live food, but unless you have cultured it yourself it's not worth the risk of an internal bacterial infection), and NEVER put 2 males together in the same tank(unless they are blocked by a divider, lol) And there water temp can be between 20-28 celcius( 26 being ideal). I hope you guys enjoy it and people dont leave hateful or nasty comments please! O-O Also i should reccomend that you use a kh( carbonate hardness), gh(general hardness), ammonia, nitrite and ph test kits on your water to keep it at a pristine level for your fishie, also some good tankmates for them are definetley Corydoras catfish, and neons, although you have to be carefull with the neons, they CAN be fin nippers, although this is rare and usually only occures when the fish are stressed out and not in a school of at least 5, but it can happen.
Feel free to leave any questions or queries! HAPPY 2 HELP!

  • @TheBettalover123

Riiiiiight, Good luck keeping your fish alive then :D

  • @Ingiequeen why dont u shut up ok seriesly just a question where did u get your information

  • @TheBettalover123

Experienced Betta fish keepers, Internet sources, books, personal experience, vets.

How old are you? Correct spelling might help you explain exactly what it is you are trying to prove.

A liter of water, while they can SURVIVE in it, does by no means they will be happy and thrive in it. Do you know how many liters of water there are in a rice paddy? THOUSANDS upon thousands. They don't live in puddles.

Please inform yourself before making unfounded claims.

A betta that chases its tale is a bored betta. Try giving your fish some toys or some sort of inritchment in his tank. A 1/2g tank is WAY to small. I have 3 males that share a 10g tank (with devidors). My other betta tank is another 10g. It currently houses 1 female betta (soon to house 2 more females, it is being turned into a sororety tank). In my opinion bettas need at least a 2.5g tank, a heater and a filter. I have had bettas that lived for 6 years like this.

  • where did u get the heater and little filter thing

  • 1 care answer wrong:bettas can get killed by filters or get beat up.

  • Quick q:umm I got a baby beta today and I got a 1/2 a gallon when it grows should I switch to a 2 gallon?

  • finaly some1 no's how to care 4 a betta but u got da lifespan wrong averge is 3-6 usely longer if u do wat she says like mine 8yrs now

  • I had a king crowntail doble tail named shadow in a 1/2 gallon tank and he lived foe 3 almost 4 years

  • @TheMejose56 The other thing he really needs (especially if you live in a cold place!) is a heater. They come by very cheap but I do recommend going for the $25-$35 ones instead of the cheap ones because I had a cheap and it malfunctioned and almost fried my fish! Such a horrible death if I hadn't come home at that precise moment, and then it was chaos because he was sick for months after that. Everything she says in this video is fantastic advice to take really good care of your betta!

  • @TheMejose56 Hey :) He might seem fine but he isn't. Remember that in their natural habitat these fish have a LOT more water than half a gallon. If he's swimming around and seems okay it is because that is what fish do, they swim around, he's not going to stay still unless he is seriously ill which I am glad to know he's not, so that's great news! He REALLY needs a 3-10 gallon tank. I have mine in a 5 gallon glass tank that I got at wallmart for $27. Came with filter and everything.
