A vocal quartet that originally went by the name the Soul Majestics, and consisted of brothers Dwight Dukes (falsetto/lead tenor) and James Dukes (bass), Keith Steward (tenor) and Michael Brown (baritone). Under the direction of producer Clarence Johnson, they recorded four albums as Heaven & Earth: one for General Entertainment Corporation (GEC), three for Mercury (Phonogram) and one for WMOT.

  • pay attention all u would b rappers...look what you may b missing out on when u only think of yourself. Your love may still be around.however if someone else has filled your shoes, that's the end of the program! So sad...so sorry...guess who's holding it down?

  • THE DUKES FAMILY.....ROGER DUKES .....R..I..P

  • What up @Luv2step01? Chi-Town has produced a ton of recording artist. I lived a block away from Curtis Mayfield when he started doing his thing in the late sixties. Currently have a friend who purchased a two story red brick house right at the corner of 78th and Paxton many years ago. And guess what? His house has a basement. Wonder if this is where it all started?

  • This, which is the original version is much more relaxed than the remake by Bobby Miller.

  • @luvdusties "mine all mine" is by the stylistics, i think.....and "the best of my love" is by t-connection....both classic chicago dusties!

  • I grew up in Chicago and never knew that this group was like around the corner from my school Robeson High....love this song. See great things do come out the Chi from yesteryear...I oughta know I am great too!! Thanks for posting, great songs and wonderful memories remembered.

  • @juice66blue67 Your story is really beautiful. Good things like that do happen when they are meant to.....beautiful!

  • My younger brother know these dudes. They are from Chicago, really cool group of guys. My younger brother was cool too and survived the thriving gang population back then. Some of the guys were good guys who sang their way out of trouble like Heaven and Earth or who worked hard on a job like my brother. Proud of all of them! Beautiful, beautiful song that I never get enough of....

  • Been looking for this song for YEARS!!! Great group, Great harmony, especially the acapella at the end
