My nephew found a snapped longboard on a beach near Praa Sands on the south coast of Cornwall.I said that when we finished surfing that we would take the board home and despose of it, but the I had a great idea, why not make a board for him from the remains of the longboard.
So I set about shaping it into a 4'8" fish that I'm hoping will be fine for him.
It hasn't been used yet in fact he doesn't know I have made it yet!! I will post more vid of him riding it latter.

  • could have sanded the tail better

  • @DinosaurOps probally could have but I aint no expert, this is about the third board I made and the first one for 15ish years

  • matty2361 he was puttin fiberglass cloth and resin over it......normally boards are made with epoxy resin which is about $100 a gallon but i just use a poly resin which is like $30-$40 a gallon

  • @cnlpainter1 I used polyester resin, I think epoxy is used more on the light weight Polystyrene foam blanks (polyester melts it) which a lot of boards are made from now. There are some good books out there with loads of info on making boards I found Surfing fundamentals very good ( it is a little dated) .
