The Gaisberg near Salzburg was once the holy hill of the antique Celts. The first part of the video shows my ride via recumbent up to the top of the hill, while the second part features scenic views on the foggy mountains. Music: Antonio Vivaldi, played by Takashi Ochi and Narciso Yepes
I dedicate this video to all the fans enjoying this singular hill, be it hiking, cycling oder paragliding.

  • I was visiting relatives in austria with my boyfriend this last april, they all live close by the gaisberg in "Hof" near lake fuschl, it was so beautiful, plus we went to the czech republic (Cesky Krumlov and Cesky Budjevoce) for two days. I miss Austria!!!

  • Yes, Austria is indeed a beautiful country, and the region where you've stayed - called 'Salzkammergut' - is especially nice, be it summer or winter. Perhaps you'll manage to return someday for another visit.

Good luck and all the best!

  • Kurt,

I felt like I was climbing with you on that beautiful ascent. The only difference is that I didn't have to exert myself! I really appreciate you adding this wonderful video to our group here on YouTube. Keep them coming.

    Gary

  • Gary,

thanks for your kind words. I feel honored to belong to this great group. At the moment I'm involved in artistic projects, but I hope to do another recumbent video as soon as possible, perhaps on the trike.

    Happy riding,

    Kurt

  • Hi Kurt - Great views and nice soundtrack. Next time you ride here, I'll shoot video looking down at you riding while I'm soaring overhead in my hang glider ;-)

    Cheers, Jonathan

  • Thanks, Jonathan, for your kind reply. As I just wrote on BROL I'm always thinking of you when I'm on top of the Gaisberg, because your hang gliding posts and videos are way too infectious for me. ;-)

Thanks again and have fun, on your bikes and in the air.

  • thank you, yeah hopefully next year or the year after plus my long term goal is to move back someday.

  • Thanks! Yes, our region has an old history with the Celts and the Romans. BTW,they called Salzburg "Iuvavum". And if you don't like hills, you can still ride along the Salzach(beautiful river). ;-)

  • Nice video! What a beautiful and historic place to ride!

  • Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Yes, it was indeed hard work and time consuming, mainly because this is my very first video and I had to learn how to do it, how to use the software, and so on. But after all it was great fun. Thanks again for looking and commenting
