And here's the last of the three normal courts. The Grass Court has a fast ball speed and a weak bounce, so your strategies will need to be mixed up. If your opponent decides to use the courts fast speed against you, you'll have to stay near the back of the court so you don't miss hitting it back. If he/she decides to use the weak bounce against you by chipping the ball near the net, then you'll have to stay close to it since the ball won't stay up for very long.

Also, I decided to show you guys the Item Battle Mode. I personally don't like it since I prefer playing normal tennis (as I feel that the game is fun as it is without all the gimmicks), but it wouldn't be nostalgia if I didn't go into all of its aspects. Here's the list of the items and what they do. Each item activates when you successfully hit the ball.

Mushroom: Increases movement speed.
Banana: Places a slippery banana on the ground where the ball lands. The banana will stay on the ball until it hits the ground once.
Green Shell: Launches three green shells in a spread formation towards your opponent.
Red Shell: Launches one homing shell towards your opponent.
Lightning: Shrinks your opponent and reduces all parameters.
Star: Makes you invulnerable to item attacks and increases all parameters.

Court: Peach Dome - Grass Court
(Ball Speed: Fast - Bounce: Weak)
Match Type: Item Battle; 2-game, 3-sets

Character: Mario (All-Around)
Offensive Power Shot: Mario's raquet transforms in to a hammer and sends the ball flying in a fiery blaze. The side effect of hitting the ball results in severe knockback.
Defensive Power Shot: Mario spin-jumps toward the ball and hits it back to the other side.

CPU: Luigi (All-Around)
Offensive Power Shot: Luigi somewhat mimics his brother, but his raquet transforms into a toy hammer. The side effect of hitting the ball results in a reversal of directional controls.
Defensive Power Shot: Luigi throws his raquet and brings out his Poltergust 3000 in order to suck the ball into raquet or vice versa. (This is the most creative Defensive Power Shot in the game IMO.)
