A simple 2D game that we have developed using Allegro and C++.

We used some sprites that we found on the web and the soundtrack from old school games, like Chrono Trigger and Sonic 1.
The game language in the video is Portuguese-BR but we have translated the game to English. You can download the windows version and also the source code here:

  • You coded this all on your own from scratch? That's actually amazing..

  • @QuinnMohammed I wasn't alone, there were three programmers in the project. :-)

  • tried to dl it and antivirus removed it because of suspicious behaviour ?!

  • There is nothing malicious in the code, don't worry. As we tested it mostly on linux and mac OS we really don't know what would be a suspicious behavior in Windows. As I see it, creating a virus on Windows is very easy, so even writing/reading files would be a suspicious behavior lol. Your antivirus is just being too conservative. Be free, use linux and don't worry about viruses. :-D

  • allegro 4?

  • Dude! nice! love the style; musics old school! hey, where dide you get ur sprites?

  • @sumkorn there might have a lot of people said this to you, but if you use a number with decimal places for the position (x,y) then instead of making them move 1position per x in time, make it go 0.707 per x in time, that fixes the character going faster when holding two directions at once, and instead makes him/her go just as fast :3

  • source code?

  • @squirefender You need to learn an API like SDL or Allegro, or if you want to go into 3D Programming use OpenGL or DirectX.

  • where can i download and try this game ? :P

  • Hi

I love programming, I use C/C++, LISP, Visual Basic and others

The question is: how put you graphics into your code? How put you graphics using C++?

  • It seems server is down.

Are sources still free to download somewhere?

  • very cool

  • vc tem o codigo para disponibiliza-lo?
