Flying high in Second Life is quite a boring thing to do (though with the b.places HUD it fast as ever). I wanted to see if the symptoms as listed on http://www.sluniverse.com/edition/2004/10/exploring-second-lifes-highest.html still occur. And for me, they don't. The only thing that happens is that the vertical resolution decreases. Above 1 million meters (1000 km), my avatar just disappears, and even when I teleport back to ground level, I remain invisible (to myself at least) until I relog. The sky does not appear to change at all, on the contrary of what is described on above blogpost.
Maybe I'll go higher, though with invisible avatar, to see if at some point it will.

I also plan to do it again with WindLight, but that'll be something diferent. :)

  • @paulsu27 Now you know how they got their looks ;)

  • How'd he get that high?

  • @FireballKupa You need a special attachment, I've used the b-places HUD for this.

  • Why u are deforming

  • It's a side-effect of the Physics engine or the renderer or something I guess. The higher you go, the lower the resolution gets and that causes it.

  • That's cool. I could've gone higher, but it would've been pointless for me, as right above 1 million my avatar stopped being rendered :P
