Snaps Pro X vid capture

This video is an experiment in "mini-tutorials" to share some of my digital techniques with those who have been requesting them. I've been trying to find a way to make something like this available without hindering an already tight chaotic daily schedule.

I threw this together quite fast, so there might be some quirks in it. If it works out, and people find this to be helpful I will try to do more. You'll notice that there is a music track on this vid... It is a quick recording of my older brother doodling out some tunes on his acoustic guitar...

Which leads me to my next point-- (and this might sound a little grumpy)..

...I am slowly working on formulas for creating longer tutorial dvd's of art technique for which I will eventually make available on my website... Someday... And in doing this, I am trying to find a good style of music/sound to accompany these vids... This is why there is sound on this vid, when I usually don't feature ANY. I am experimenting with different things, seeing how it fits. The next vid may go back to not having any sound at all. But in all honesty, one of my little pet peeves is people who comment on my channel about the the lack of music on my vids, and how it makes them BORING... To me, that's like going to a concert to see/hear a musician play, and complaining about what kind of shirt he is wearing.

If the lack of music/sound on these vids bores you, then the answer is simple. These vids aren't for you. They are for people who are serious about art, or simply enjoy seeing the art work come together. Besides, if I do put music on all of my vids- whatever I choose- it is guaranteed that a percentage of people are not going to like it. In that way, I would be taking a chance of alienating a larger percentage of people than the ones who don't like the silence.

Anyway- the majority of people out there are very kind about these vids and I thank you for that. I hope to be able to continue posting more on here for you.

  • Why did you use same brushes for eye painting?

It seems that they don't fit for it very well.

  • blurry mess

  • @cajixh manbearpig

  • I'm replying to your description, I agree with the fact that you get irritated when people comment about you not having music on some of your videos. and for those who don't like the fact that you don't have music on your videos, why don't you turn on the radio or go on itunes or vevo in another tab and play music while watching the video

  • @ItsaCompliment Check this out before u make a comment like that /watch?v=mSDfxde8fSg

  • I use to draw like that, til I took an arrow to the knee

  • @Fancypants117: Most likely your image is too small. It's best to work at least 2-4x larger than your final image. You can reduce the image size later and your linework will look a lot tighter. Brian Bolland, Batman: Killing Joke illustrator, mentioned that for the revamp he used Photoshop and he enjoyed how much detail he could put into each panel. Detail that was so minute that they wouldn't even show up on the final print!
