  • @Hoth1907 those who did wrong to the ones you mentioned, are all gone. so, what do you expect from such a trial? money for the indians? us citizenship for vietnamese? there won´t be NO justice!

  • Also, didn't he have a very hard time after the war in finding and maintaining work? I don't understand this. Was he so hated in his own country that no one wanted him around? Help me to understand this. It just boggles my mind. Where does he settle? In France, of all places. I just don't understand why he didn't find some quiet village in Germany and live quietly. It is really, really sad that such a man who gave so much to his country would end up like this.

  • was full of young, fantatical men who had seen their families killed in a very violent way, and now wanted revenge? Didn't he also say it was sometimes impossible to keep them in line? Here is my complaint. Why wasn't some of his troops allowed to testify on his BEHALF? I know that there was a POW who said he was treated fairly and humanely but the tribunal willingly didn't take that into account. Did those Allied men who survived the massacre point out Peiper as the one who gave the order?

  • Hardly a fair trail. Jochem Peiper looks like a broken man sitting in that chair. As if all of his ideals, all of his bravery and sacrifices for his patriotism were for nothing. Didn't he say that his life was over? What a horribly sad thing to say?

He was once a man of power. A man who led his men through many battles. And many claim he was a brilliant strategist yet here he is being tried for a massacre many claim he was not responsible for. Didn't he say that his regiment

  • When will all nations in the world accuse and trial America for: massacre the indians, vietnam, hiroshima, nagasaki, etc. etc?

  • hardly a fair trial. what a one sided joke.

  • Blind allegiance to ideology and unquestioning obedience - this is a sad reminder of those dark times - a tragic lesson which humanity has failed to heed. The allies created the current age that has an unquestioning faith in consumerism and a rapacious need for 'growth' threatening the long term future of our planet. Incapable of making the necessary changes required for a more sustainable future, they've squandered the sacrifice of millions and created an impending nightmare for all humanity
