In 1957, guitarist Brian Rankin travelled to London with his school friend Bruce Welch "in an attempt to get into the music business".
Hitting the 2i's coffee bar venue in London's Soho, the pair quickly became part of the cafe's pool of musicians. After a spell in The Vipers (who had a skiffle hit, 'Don't You Rock Me Daddy-O') the pair worked on a single by The Five Chesternuts ('Teenage Love' / 'Jean Dorothy' - Columbia DB.4165) before forming The Drifters in 1958 by which time Brian Rankin had become the legendary Hank B. Marvin.
I though I'd never get the chance to ever hear this !! Fantastic, thanks !!

50s skiffle has quite a wonderful sound to it. ^_^

great song of its time, dated slightly but I love it - cause I'm dated too. And it does give a little history to our knowledge of a great band
