Tips for haircut and styling tools that work best for vintage hairstyles. The cuts require commitment so if you don't plan on keeping the look, work with what you like. These are simply my suggestions for an authentic 1940's or 1950's look-for girls like me who were just born in the wrong decade!heh heh. • What would you consider a "good" vented brush? What kind of bristles should you have on your brush for combing out curls?

  • @blondiejean I now use a Denman Styling Brush. :)

  • @expreslonac Actually the most authentic way is still pin curls. Metal curlers under a hair dryer have historically caused very severe burns. I would certainly not recommend them. However, if someone is fortunate enough to find iron rollers, they certainly can be used as a wet set. I don't think the results are very much different than foam rollers or perming rods...:)

  • @soccer69heit or just try a different roller...:)

Heavens, I love the back ground music! What is the name of the artist on the first track?

  • @darkblu09 Not sure what you mean about bangs?? And the middy haircut does work w/ all hair types. :)

  • So they all had bangs? It doesn't look that way in the pictures. ??

And would this cut work with naturally thick curly hair?
