  • @konumers I agree 100%. Quincy Jones pushed her to the LIMIT!!! and thank God he did . . . The Wiz is one of the greatest musical motion pictures ever made.

  • Thank you! Many critics of "The Wiz" didn't like and didn't understand the film because they couldn't comprehend it was not a point-by-point remake of the original film & L. Frank Baum story. The original story was used as a launching pad for it to be told from a Black perspective. It was totally different and just as good.

  • because black people dared to make a big budget A movie that's why! you can't tinker with white middle class values in the western world...jeez, anyone can see that...it was a case of how dare those blacks try something new and wonderful...yes racism was at work here. the movie was great and had great meaning.
