An interview with legendary storm chaser Roger Hill where he talks about what makes a storm a Supercell and why he likes to watch giant hail. Features footage shot by severe weather film maker Alister Chapman. The final clip was taken during a hail storm in South Dakota that had stones the size of tennis balls driven by 100mph winds. The storm smashed windows in the chasers vehicles and one of the cars, a brand new mini cooper was a total loss. Alister had all of his footage in the back of the mini and when the ice melted it got very wet. Fortunately he was using XDCAM HD discs and after drying them off with a hair drier the footage on them played back perfectly!
If I see hail like that, I'm moving to ALASKA!! Great scott! FIVE stars!!
