@BlazeHedgehog I knew what you meant. Also, Jungle Beat was about £32 new here when I checked.. I don't have the bongos already, so that's why it costs more. Like I said, if I feel like picking up the bongos, I'll try the GC version.
My palms weren't stinging, but I'll be damned if my arms weren't hurting. <_<
But really, none of these level design changes seem to especially matter from what I've seen, and I've seen a lot of runs of the GC version. At the end of the day, I enjoyed it.
@JonnyJinx04 Jungle Beat for the GC, with Bongos, has been $20 or less for two or three years now. I mean tactile as in the feeling of hitting the drums and having the game react. It's just not Donkey Kong Jungle Beat unless your palms are stinging a little bit. All of the changes they made to the Wii version just look superfluous - DK doesn't need a health meter, and because the controls are so different, the levels are changed to suit the new controls, but none of that needed to be changed...
@BlazeHedgehog Just to continue from that, I wouldn't mind playing the GC version some day, but like I said, it was a lot more expensive... so, its one of those "maybe some day" things.
@BlazeHedgehog You mean tactile feedback? Also, I don't mind it being a more generic platformer. The point is though, I've heard a lot of people who've owned both versions who say the wii version was an improvement. I know a lot of fans of the GC version don't like the Wii version, but I was inclined to trust the people who'd played both before I bought it.
Also, the GC version was a lot more expensive. I don't see how the Wii version can be "terrible" by any means, so thats why I said it.
@JonnyJinx04 I think you are overestimating how the bongo controls work - and that's really, truly, honestly what makes the game. That feeling can never be replicated by Wiimote waggle. The Wii version tries to turn it in to an even more generic platformer when that's not what the game is supposed to be about, or at least, that's not why I love it so much. It's about rhythm and the sensation of power you get. That sounds weird, I know.
@BlazeHedgehog That won't be necessary. I have the Wii version and I like it a lot. I've seen the GC version, and the overly simplistic controls don't honestly appeal to me. And it kinda looks too easy compared to the Wii version, but whatever.
@JonnyJinx04 You can watch video of the Wii version of Jungle Beat and compare it to this one. I have. They're very different games, and I like the GC Jungle Beat better.
Well, that's sort of the point. They changed tons of stuff in the levels, they changed how a lot of the game mechanics work, they changed the controls... it's basically a completely different game on the Wii, and none of what they changed seems to improve the things I enjoy about the GC version of Jungle Beat.
Dunno if you remember me, but I caved and ordered the GC version... hope its as good as everyone says. :P
