RESCUED! Original description said: Yesterday I was walking through the North Central LA shelter http://www.laanimalservices.com - on my way to check on some other dogs for a rescue. I've done this for many years, and it takes something pretty special or incredible to make me stop... and yesterday I stopped twice. First was for this beautiful girl... who someone horribly mutilated by hacking only half her ears off with scissors! This is one of the worst back-alley ear jobs I've seen. :( I imagine the horrific stress that event cause for this poor little (maybe 40 pound) girl, turned her prematurely gray on her muzzle, because she's just a puppy! I kept saying "what a happy girl!" and she loved that!! Maybe she could be named "Happy"... except, with those sad ears, her sad eyes, and being a black pitbull.... despite her whole body going into an ecstatic wiggle when I stopped in front of her kennel, then showing me how she knows her "sit" like a star.... what are her chances of getting adopted or rescued? Even if she is only 1 year old....

Maybe there's someone out there who won't judge her by her looks, or her breed.

Maybe that's someone is you?

  • i think that this dog was using for fighting, look at her scars on face .. good that she is adopted

  • oh no her ears got cut off, probly the abuser

  • I am so glad this girl got adopted, i hope she gets all the love to make up for horror she must have gone through.

  • Hooray for rescuing dogs! Boo for people that do not understand dog behaviour and more importantly are misinformed on pit bulls and classify them as a "rough" breed for no justified reason.

  • She's been pulled by a rescue and has already been adopted! She will be going home to Washington VERY soon!

Hooray for the power of crossposting!

    :)

    :)

  • I've got this posted on my facebook page and have asked people to cross post it. Keeping my fingers crossed!

  • I'm networking her with everyone I can think of. So far no one has stepped forward and she's almost out of time.

  • I posted this to Bama Bully Rescue's FaceBook page. They've crossposted it, so now she has been seen across the US. I volunteer with a no kill dog rescue just a little North of where she is, so maybe we can get her into our program. I've also contacted someone that I know was interested in adopting, and has rescued two other pits. I'm doing what I can :)

  • I hope that someone can rescue/adopt this wonderful girl. Please don't be afraid of the breed. Bavaria is obviously very sweet and loving! She's red-listed which means she can be euthanized any day.
