Sorry about the video quality. I was accidentally zoomed in. If you get bored skip to the last 3 or 4 min for a funny story.

I get some hate directed at me when I make vids like this. But THIS is the reason I make them: "THANK U SO MUCH!!! I would be dead if it wasn't for u
Hey 13mordeth, u might remember me, i was the one asking u about the monster as a first bike... Well i got be a old POS 1987 Honda Maxima 600 that i payed $550 for.. And i am having the time of my life with it!! Its old and beet up but still runs great, it has 35 000 Km on it, is very under powered but i love it!!

I took your advise and got me a old cheep bike that i can drop as many times and not give a shit. well ive dropped it 6 times hahaha!! The point of my message is that i 100% agree with ur latest video. I got my bike the same time my friend got his. Originally we were both going to go buy brand new sport bikes, then after talking to you my whole outlook of what your first bike should be changed. But my friend was still all hot and horny for a CBR 600 and he got one!!! Now i am having all the fun and he is the one who is shitting himself everytime he gets on it!! He is at the point where he is to nervous to get on it and its more of a display peace in his garage.

I got on the cbr 600 last week, in a big parking lot at our local collage, i did not want to ride it for the first time on the roads. and wow!! i would have been dead by now if i bought somthing like that!! so THANK YOU!!! I love my old piece of shit honda!!!! and i plan to keep it for the next couple year before i upgrade!! "

And an M13 quote: "I want to learn to juggle, but I'm going to start by learning with chainsaws. But don't worry. I intend to go slow, be careful, stay level-headed, and respect the power of the chainsaws while I'm learning". Be "careful" all you want, go as "slow" as you want, be as "cautious" as you want, be as "respectful" as you want...your still juggling chainsaws! The "level-headed" thing to do in this situation is NOT to start with chainsaws. " - Mordeth13

  • Ive been riding dirt bikes for about five years. im pretty dang good. do you still think i should get a 250??

  • @BigT3xan There are a lot of options between 250 and a 600 supersport. You could get a 400cc or a 500cc....even my Ninja 650 would be better suited to you. And a lot cheaper than a 600 supersport.

  • All you guys are pussy's... buy the 1000 and get rid of the training wheels. I don't know why you even made this video. Its pretty obvious that you should not be riding a bike period.

  • @nastybitofcode Says the guy who doesn't have any videos of his own and probably doesn't even know how to ride. Loser.

  • Drove an R6 in my military days..I realize it was about ego..Now I ride 250cc series..now I'm a lot more happy...

  • @saviorJay51 Smart man.

  • But isnt it true that a larger person can handle a larger bike much easyer? (apart from the motogp riders;)

  • I ride a 70cc supermoto (random info;) but in our boring country, holland, you can get your bike licence at age 18, but then your only allowed on bikes between 120cc and 25kW i believe, and after two years with this licence you can ride whatever you want, and if you get your licence at age 21 you can choose to ride bike sessions with >35kW. And i believe now they're considering making it so that you need to always do two exams, first with a light bike, ride for some years, and then the biggr 1

  • eyy mordeth, the thing i've realized is that the ninja 250's are so ridiculously overpriced. Most used 600's will be cheaper. I found a 93 suzuki gsxr 750 for $700 while the cheapest ninja 250 i can find is $2000...i could negotiate, but seems like everyone just wants to be ridiculous aff. Even used 2008 bikes will be over the new MSRP price...it doesn't make sense. anyways, is the 750 too much. it's the cheapest working motorcycle on craigslist in my area right now

  • i definetly dont recomend starting on a 600 but i have friends that started on 1000 but they all have years of dirt biking on them i didnt so i got me a 250 and now i got a cbr 600rr (i know wierd like mordeth) (and sorry i still dont have any vids i like to upload of the 600, but soon i will when i get a real nice one)

  • Hey I do agree. 600cc is a lil too big for the first bike. I am 16 learning on a 2007 Suzuki 500f, and have done some riding in large parking lots to get used to it..500 is sort of big for a learner like me, but at least I am taking the time to get comfortable riding experience before i gun it on the road. I am also taking a class in May. Driving like a "pussy" is not safe driving. Taking it seriously is safe, but fast is fun.

  • My first bike which I still own today and ride on occasion is an sv650. I purchased the bike because I didn't have the money to purchase a 250 just to upgrade again later. I couldn't have been happier with my purchase, in the first year I put 23K miles on her and 2 track days. I now also own a 954rr which I ride everyday. I agree with this video, but I think that purchasing a bike has everything to do with the rider and whether you can respect the bike. I've been riding for 2 years now with 35K.

  • @nastybitofcode Kinda seems like me when I first realized that there were sport bikes in the world, right around when i turned 12. I'm 16 now, and I've been riding my dad's 200cc trail bike, which is fucking dirt slow. But the point is, even with how slow it is, I've dropped it 10 or 11 times, just because I'm so lanky. I'm 6" 110 lbs, a very light rider, so it's a very very tough choice, I don't know where to start. I want a ninja 250r.

  • Bandit 400. An excellent starting point.

unless you're new on the road altogether, then a 125cc.

  • How about the 600s that are not sport bikes?

Such as the XJ6 by Yamaha for example?

And how about the ones that are restricted to 33bhp?

I personally have 13,000 miles of experience on a 125 currently, and am looking to upgrade.

But how about for other new riders, what do you think of that?

  • I started on a 50cc Honda back in the 70's, worked my way up to an 1100, and back down (My last bike) to a 225XT. I loved all of them, every bike has its own personality.
