Lifestyles - Episode 3 - Vencie Beach Has Teeth!

In this episode of Lifestyles we take you to Venice Beach, just an 1 1/2 drive away from Gulf Harbors, to dig for shark teeth that are millions of years old.

Screens can be rented from the Venice Pier for only $5 per day. You can find teeth as small as 1/8 of an inch all the way up to the big 4 inch (and larger) teeth of the Megalodon shark! These huge sharks are estimated at 60 feet in length, but don't worry, they've been extinct for about a million years now and mostly fed on whale.

This easy and scenic drive over the Sunshine Skyway bridge (which is featured in the final scene of the movie, "The Punisher") will reward kids of ages 2 - 100 a great day on the beach and treasure hunting for teeth that can fetch thousands of dollars!

So get your Indiana Jones hat and sunblock on and head out to Venice Beach!

  • Hi, My family and I are going to Florida this May. We were wondering where you get the metal "nets" you are using to sift out sharks teeth?

  • On Venice Beach there is a fishing pier with a bait & tackle shop on it. You can rent them there.

  • is venice beach in california

  • There is a Venice Beach, CA. But this is Venice Beach on the west coast of Florida.

  • This area is not one of the best in the world , when i watch this video they don't find perfect teeth .

And they are not so many teeth.

There are mutch better places in europa and you have also Bone valley and Lee creek mine in usa.

  • Probably places to find better teeth and fossils but not better places to look for them. Beach versus mines? I'll choose the beach where cold Margritas are served (yards away at Sharky's Grill) every time! Thanks!

Yes.You need to drive South past the fishing pier (Sharky's) about a half mile until you run out of road.that is where the beach is undisturbed.Don't bother looking for teeth beside the pier, due to the new sand.

  • Fantastic. Where is this location exactly? South of Venice Beach pier?

I live in Orlando and I heard Venice was reconstructed with new sand so it's difficult to find teeth, is this true? I'd appreciate it! I plan on making a day trip there and want to make sure the drive isn't in vain!

  • well, you may have heared of englewood beach (blind pass park) it's great for finding sharks teeth it's better than venice and not too far from it.
