My first night in Shanghai China as a guest of the Chinese Government (competing in an International Dragonboat Race and representing the USA). I am invited to a "disco bar" by a couple of women. The place is called Xiandao Cafe, is located right in downtown financial district, and it has a dancefloor, cafe seats, bar, and karaoke rooms. I have a tea, some snacks, and buy a drink for each woman, then leave as the race days begin early tomorrow. Later i find out that my credit card has NOT been billed the 199 RMB i was quoted, but 19900 RMB (over $3240 US) for the food & drink! I decide to go back WITH MY CAMERA and take it up with the manager, and contact Chase Visa Sapphire to dispute the charge. Amazingly, CHASE VISA HONORS THE CHARGE VALID AND TELLS ME I MUST PAY IT.

  • did you sign 19900 RMB? If not then it's your responsibility. If your signature appears on such a draft, did you keep the original? If not report it as fraud.
