  • The Sausage quilt that I build into my guitars and sell to other manufactures comes for the big leaf western maple tree on the northern west coast. Thanks for asking, ave a great day, DB

  • Does spalted maple have any tonal qualities different than that of regular maple or is it just cosmetic? Incredibly informative clip btw...thx 4 posting!

  • Thanks, CavefishX, It does but if you use other woods with it and use the more dense spalt it can be a really great sound. I have about twenty pieces left of a log I found this year that was as dense as alder and yet fully figured flamed spalt, it is great sounding and very light, thanks for asking, check out the spalted guitars on Bunker Guitars site, they are from that log, very rare wood!!

  • Hi dd bunker i must say that you are the coolest and nicest man.

    very interesting work .

    Amazing!

  • Thanks, I really enjoy finding a processing the music woods, It's like finding a gold nugget when you find that just right tree. Found a nice quilt tree today , it really helps my Bunker Guitars to be better instruments when the wood is done right, thanks again/ DaveB

  • Dave, where is your shop located at? I live in Marysville.

  • grrrrrr tiger... wait a moment... (tiger woods) o-O

  • very knowledgeable. also never heard the word sausage used in describing a guitar...

  • left handed guitar??

  • That came from some of the wood I find and process(Stump to Stage) it really comes out nice in green translucent. At Bunker Guitars we make sure the wood is the best because we find and process our own, we sell it to some of the major guitar makers, thanks CS
