Breeders routinely breed Labradors for their preferred venue (show, field, agility, obedience, etc.) While doing so may be important, it is every breeder's responsibility to preserve the dual qualities of the Labrador (adherence to the breed standard and retrieving ability) for future generations. Remember: there is only one Labrador. In my estimate, the ideal Labrador is proficient and excels in more than one venue, perhaps several. Please watch.
