Just watched this, it was pretty awesome, and funny too... but save yourself some money and watch it at fillmsi.co.cc. Overall, definitely worth watching! Great film!!
Ypatia was a Greek philosopher with neoplatonic philosophical ideas. Greeks after Alexander ruled Egypt for 300 years until the last Ptolemaic Queen Kleopatra. After the Roman conquest there were many Greeks in Egypt. Most of them didnt want to change their Greek ancient religion even in the 5th century AD, when Ypatia was killed by fanatic Christians in Alejandria.
greeks and romans were bloodthirsty expansionists, intolerants and paganists. they detroyed every kind of culture on their path, murdering, burning, raping and burning entire cities seeking gold, slaves and everything they could carry. remember cartague, jerusalem, by the romans, and gaza and tiro, by the "superior race" greeks. thats why americans are becoming atheists, to kill, burn and destroy other countries, religions and cultures, whithout sorrow or mercy!
Even the atheism is a point of view acceptable. There are many ways of thinking and the tolerance toward them is one of the greatest values that human kind must keep. Personally I believe in God, but other people has the right to believe in what ever they want. That´s called pacific coexistence, and is the key for the peace for everybody. Fundamentalism and intolerance wherever they come.... well they are the cause of the bloodiest conflicts in human history.
Movie makes again clear that religion is the murderer of all civilization. Not a satanist, far from it, but the great Greek and Roman empires badly influenced by the cross hangers (J.C.) and other weak scum. Not a bad movie , by the way;)
