This 2- minute video was created to welcome Shawn Henry (WAI Outreach Coordinator at the W3C), the #heweb11 conference keynote speaker on October 24, 2011.
With this video, we tried to put the attendees of this higher ed web conference in a couple of "disabling situations" (not being able to understand what was said in sign language, not being able to see a photo).
Our point was to make them experience some sort of disability so they can become better web accessibility champions at their institutions - the only real web accessibility button.
A full transcript of this video including descriptions of the visuals can be found at:

Big thanks go to Mike Richwalsky, Daniel Goldstein, the National Federation of the Blind, Shawn Henry as well as David Simmons who tutrored Karine Joly in American Sign Language. Any misspelling or stiffness in her hands should be seen as an expression of Karine's thick accent in ASL after a single hour of ASL tutoring - and not David's teaching skills.
