You're talking about Kenya. High in corruption with a minimal participatory tax base. Change will not come from money. It will come from these women continuing to stand up in their own villages regardless of whether they get any funding that can be misappropriated. And this type of female genital mutilation was also done in Victorian England.

  • I'm probably a lot older than most here, and have seen a lot in life--but this made me feel physically sick. Education is the only way. The educated women (midwives, nurses, teachers) will be able to inspire others and change the way of thinking.

Brave women--especially the young girl and her mum who resisted this awful practice.

If you can afford just $10 or £10 a year, support an educational trust for girls.

  • watching this makes my....vagina hurt. >.< I stopped mid way cuz all the bad accent explaining how they mutilate those girls down there was just too much...I literally started getting cramps down there...argh.

  • Fight my friends! I pray fir you that you will be safe

I'm so sorry for this terrible evil here:(

How can we help them ?? Agh!!

  • Superb film.

  • @nibsvkh The official accepted term is Female Genital Cutting, though I personally prefer FGM. The most common form of FGM though is the removal of the clitoral hood, which is the exact equivalent of male circumcision. FGM has the potential to be much worse than male circumcision, especially if the victim is infibulated, but the extent of damage is irrelevant. Like male circumcision, FGM is a violation of human rights.

  • I think a word other than circumcision should be used as it gets confused with male circumcision and in no way are comparable.

  • Savages!
