  • You have the grinder to the right set up for single dosing or is it just broken down for cleaning? Those E grinders are nice, but seem a bit slow compared to other grinders in same category/size.

  • What the hell happened to the side of that machine? Looks scratched to pieces there mate. FWIW I will say nice milk texture, but in all honesty it's not a bit difficult with commercial grade equipment to crank out silky microfoam drink after drink.

  • @RichardCranium365 Hi there. I don't rinse it before extraction. I rinse it with a soft cloth after use, and then I dry it immediately. I only use a bottomless portafilter as when you use bottomless, you never go back :) as you can notice from my comment, I like my coffee machine and coffe machine related accessories all clean. I run the shower after i have taken the portafilter off to let go of leftover coffee and then I dry.

  • @RoadRunnersTech A new 2 grp La Marzocco (FB80 or GB5) will cost $9-10K, possibly more. The $2,000 will buy you a decent used machine or 1 really good grinder. People should understand that some home level equipment is quite capable, just won't be able to crank out drink after drink without having commercial equipment. Main positives with true commercial equipment is temperature stability and pressure regulation achieved.

  • @rhishikeshA Not likely! You don't have to spend thousands to get great espresso/espresso based drinks, but it does take a decent level of equipment and knowledge to obtain satisfactory results. Along with FRESH coffee, which is what most people tend to overlook.

  • @recruitmentch Wiping the portafilter/basket with a clean cloth is just fine. No need to rinse right before the extraction as that can alter the metal's temperature. Rinsing can also lead to water being trapped in portafilters that aren't bottomless, which leads to shot dilution. Main thing is to dry shower screen and basket before dosing, etc.

  • disappointed she didn't properly clean the portafilter with water. not just for hygein but also for the sake of the portafilter looking all clean and shiny.

  • I would just like to add that in italy, we do not drink cappuccino after 12noon.

  • @PlanbElliot brilliant. made me laugh :)

  • Just put your fucking finger in my coffee why don't you, you unhygienic bitch!
